The short answer

This site sets no cookies of its own and does no cross-site tracking: the fonts, the stylesheet and the map are all served from this domain, and the pages we publish contain no scripts. Our host, Cloudflare, adds two things at its own layer: its Web Analytics beacon, a cookieless script that gives us aggregate visit counts and cannot follow you to other sites, and the ordinary server logs any host keeps. That is the extent of it until you choose to give an email address or ask to be introduced to a buyer, and neither of those routes is open yet.

Who keeps this record

Mineral Rights Atlas (mineralrightsatlas.com) is an independent reference site operated from Colorado, United States. This page covers the website at mineralrightsatlas.com and nothing else: the government sources and other sites we link to are governed by their own policies.

What the pages do

They are static files. The pages this site publishes contain no JavaScript, including the map, which navigates and highlights entirely in CSS. That is a design decision from the start and it has a privacy consequence worth stating: nothing we write can watch you read.

The fonts are served from this domain rather than a font network. A page about who owns the land under your house should not tell a third party that you opened it.

One script does reach your browser, and honesty requires saying so plainly: our host injects it at its edge, and it is described in the next section.

The analytics beacon our host injects

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled for it. Cloudflare injects its beacon script, served from static.cloudflareinsights.com, into each page as it is delivered. That script is not in the files we publish, but it runs in your browser all the same, so this page counts it as part of the site.

What it does, per Cloudflare's own description: it is cookieless, it stores nothing in your browser, it does not fingerprint you or follow you across other sites, and it reports page views and performance timings that we see only in aggregate. What we get from it is a count of visits per page, not a record of any person's reading. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Until August 18, 2026 this page said the site ran no analytics beacon and made no third-party requests. That was true of the files we upload and false of the pages as served, and this page is the correction it promised.

What the server sees

The usual web server record of a request: the address it came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser's own description of itself. That is what any web server writes down. Cloudflare keeps it as our host for operational and security purposes under its own retention schedule, and we do not join it to anything else or use it to build a profile.

If you subscribe

The list is not open yet. The signup field on these pages does not accept input, and no address is collected until it does; this section describes the promise that will govern it from the day it opens.

An email address given for the briefing is used to send the briefing and the alerts described on that page, and for nothing else. It is not sold, rented, shared, or given to a mineral buyer. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address rather than suppressing it.

If you ask to be introduced to a buyer

The introduction route is not open yet either, and nothing is collected until it opens. When it does: what you enter goes to the single named buyer you chose, along with a record of the consent language you agreed to and when. It does not go to any other buyer, it is not resold, and it is not added to a marketing list. The terms are on the buyers page and they are the same terms shown to you before you ask.

Your rights

Email corrections@mineralrightsatlas.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Realistically, until the list and the introduction route open, the honest answer is that we hold nothing about you beyond any email you have sent us yourself. We answer these requests within 45 days, for anyone who asks, whatever state or country you live in, without charge and without making you prove anything beyond control of the address in question.

Children

This site is a reference about property law and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and since no form on the site is open, we do not currently collect it from anyone at all. If you believe a child has sent us an email address, write to corrections@mineralrightsatlas.com and we will delete it.

Changes

If what this site collects changes, for example if another tool is added, this page changes on the same day, the effective date at the top moves, and the change is noted in the monthly briefing once the briefing exists. A privacy page that quietly drifts out of date is worse than none.

What changed on August 18, 2026: this page previously claimed no analytics beacon and no third-party requests. The Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon was live at the edge, and the page now discloses it. The effective date, the rights section and the children section were added in the same revision.
